about custom IbasicSymbol

hi everyone,i have write a simple custom component implementing IbasicLineSymbol by GDI+ that solves anti-aliased issue,but i find it inefficient ,ArcMap and arcgis engine application can not identify it,
does it need be registered ?and can it be used in arcgis engine application?thanks
