How to find direction of digitization from featurelayer object for labelling purpose

Hi All,

Is there a way to find direction of digitization from feature layer? I can not go for any n/w layer(i.e creating geometric n/w)
Actually aim is to label layer according to its direction of digitization. As development is done in Arc Editor license no maplex is supported.

In case any one has solution to this, please reply to this post.
