10.0 and 10.1 don't.
Badly formatted dates have been causing issues with distributed geodatabases at synchronization time. We want to force our users to enter valid dates.

Does the attribute editor (i.e., "Object Inspector") in the platform formerly sold as "ArcGIS Engine" include a date picker to edit date fields during attribute editing?
It certainly does on the desktop flavors.. It does appear that the attribute editor control has changed and the engine and desktop flavors are not the same.
